Finding Discord Servers to Join

Joining a discord server is easy on both the web app and desktop app - simply click on the plus sign symbol (the explore button) and search for one by name.

Note that in order to gain entry to a private server, an invite link from an existing member must be obtained in order to join it.

Gaming Servers

Discord offers gaming servers and communities for gamers of all types to find an ideal server or community to join. Servers are organized into channels which may feature text or voice chat and be public or private depending on your preference.

Discord servers typically require an invite link in order to join, although search and discovery tools may help locate servers as well. Popular YouTubers and Twitch streamers sometimes include Discord invite links as part of their profiles.

TommyInnit's Discord server serves as a forum for fans of his Minecraft videos and streams on YouTube, featuring Dream SMP - an exclusive, whitelisted survival multiplayer server - as an example.

Join a Rocket League Discord server - a developer-run community dedicated to arcade-style soccer and vehicular mayhem video gaming - which offers various announcements and discussion channels such as support, tournaments, trading and eSports. There may even be one for the Call of Duty series available here!

Music Servers

Discord is an invaluable platform for musicians looking to share video content and start group conversations that engage their fans. They can use it as a promotional tool for concerts and merchandise sales; Discord's features make sharing links with fans simple; they can even use livestreaming sessions as an avenue for teasers of new songs!

There are various music servers you can join, such as r/WeAreTheMusicMakers, Music Production and Feedback. These communities don't cater specifically to any skill levels or musical genre; instead they provide topics and topics of discussion related to creating music.

To join a server, navigate the Discord desktop app and find its Add a Server section. Choose plus-shaped icon and paste server invite link into text field. Alternatively, mobile users may join servers temporarily by clicking an invite link and choosing Join Server option; but for greater security it's best to create an account in order to maintain safety for data security purposes.

Education Servers

There are various educational Discord servers that provide students with a community and resources related to school-related topics. One such server, called Study Together, connects students from all around the globe, offering boot camps, mindfulness sessions, and study groups.

Though Discord servers can be accessed by anyone, the best way to join one is via invitation from one of its members - usually a friend or someone who created and added their friends as members to it. Some creators even offer exclusive invite-only servers as a reward on Patreon.

Discord servers are at the core of every Discord experience. They consist of text and voice channels as well as announcements and community guidelines. Channels can be organized into categories to allow administrators to assign permissions to users individually; furthermore, permissions can also be assigned via roles - which provides users with all of their permissions applied across every channel on a server.

Community Servers

Community servers provide an ideal way for newcomers to meet others who share similar interests, whether that be video games, music, programming languages and cultures, movies or TV shows. Members also share resources and take part in events as a part of these servers.

To create a community server in Discord, start by activating this feature in your settings. When finished, click "Get Started" to follow the wizard. Alternatively, Member Screening provides another means of controlling membership by listing rules users must agree to before sending public messages, reactions or Direct Messages; this partially replaces a verification bot but doesn't completely eliminate its need.

Add Rules Channel and Community Updates channels for your community members to use. Choose Mention Only notifications so as not to bombard members with irrelevant messages. Lastly, Statbot allows you to keep an eye on how well your community is progressing.
